Here at Mere Green Primary School, we prioritise an inclusive education for all pupils. We celebrate that we are all unique, highly capable and have potential to make excellent progress from our own starting points. We strongly encourage the ‘Mere Green Child’ to contribute, embrace their individual talents and share personal interests with others.
When children find it challenging to make progress through highly effective quality first teaching, we acknowledge that adaptations maybe required to ensure that those with more complex needs are given the same opportunities to thrive, academically, socially and emotionally and artistically. All pupils are encouraged and supported to contribute and develop mental strength, which supports them in life beyond the classroom, preparing all children for long life learning regardless of ability or protected characteristics.
We ensure high quality provision for pupils who have any of the following needs and seek regular training and expert advice to ensure we are meeting the needs of all pupils.

We believe that early identification is essential in ensuring that pupils receive the right support at the right time. In line with the SEND Code of Practice, Mere Green Primary School, takes a ‘Graduated Approach’ to identifying additional needs of the pupil and work together with parents/carers at all stages.
The Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 require Mere Green Primary School to publish certain information regarding our provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
